Today, July 8, Year of the Gorgon 2020, Mars be square mercury in heavens. What this mean? Be patient, I telling you! Why mortals always be wanting to know, know, know? This driving me crazy.

Sorry, that was a little bit of Gorgonia feeling Mars square Mercury energy.

Two things you need to know: Mars is God of War, very much like fighting, cutting with sword, acting without thinking, being aggressive, sweating a lot. Mercury is God of Communication, Commerce and Thieves. He like analyzing and writing and business and making money and, yes, sometimes stealing things. When things are shiny, Mercury want them. Gorgonia understand.

Mars in Aries right now, which is home sign for God of War. Here he have dignity, as astrologer mortals say. When a planet have dignity, it feel very comfortable. It is like when Gorgonia is in Gorgonia’s cave she know where her bag of tasty worms is and the sack she keep blindfolded trained chicken in and she walk freely through her garden of mortals turned to stone from Gorgon gaze, she at home and act like she want. That is how Mars in Aries be.

What does Mars like and want? He like action, arguing, violence, rashness, heat, cutting, causing strife, those kinds of things. PR mortal says I must say nice things about Mars as well. She say I need to spin things and make them sound more positive because readers do not like downer newsletters. I say, Why I must spin, I am Gorgonia, not a spider! PR mortal shakes her head and puts it in her hands and say, Why didn’t I go to law school?

Ok, PR mortal, I say something nice about Mars. Mars very assertive, which can be good, Mars like sports and competition(s), which can be good too.

Right now Mercury in Cancer. Mercury in Cancer is very sensitive, likes thinking about past, especially since Mercury also retrograde, likes family, nourishment, emotions, these kind of watery things.

A square be a dynamic, stressful aspect, and Mars be the stronger planet because it is in dignity sign and square is happening to the right of Mars, which means it is dominating Mercury. Mercury also retrograde, so not as strong in general.

Here’s what this be like:

Mars in Aries and Mercury in Cancer are in sandbox together and Mercury is peacefully making home out of sand and thinking happy thoughts about grandparents, but Mars come and crush sand home with feet and kick sand in Mercury’s face. Mercury then cry very, very loud, lots of tears, wants its mom, cries out for her. This annoys Mars, he kicks more sand in Mercury’s face, more crying, etc. etc.

So what this mean for your mortals?

During this aspect, be careful you are not making rash decisions, getting too fired up with an emotional boil over and saying hurtful things you may later regret.
